Last night we held the second NYC ALT.NET user group meeting with a focus on discussing issues around the role and challenges of Project Management in an Agile work environment.
ThoughtWorks was kind enough to sponsor the food (pizza and soda) for the event (thanks, guys) in exchange for a brief mention and a thank-you during the meeting. We really appreciate their commitment to the develpment community in general and our group in particular.
If you couldn’t make the meeting or are just interested in some details about what was discussed, there are some photos and also video here and here. The higher-res video will be posted a bit later if you don’t like the lower-res version available here.
For fun, here’s a single photo of the event showing some of our fishbowl discussion; I’m the one in the yellow shirt offering some of my project management war stories to the group of about 40 attendees while the light reflects off my bald head .
Next Meeting 11/10/2008
The next meeting is going to be Monday, November 10th since the 4th Wednesday in November (our normal meeting date) conflicts with Thanksgiving here in the States. The topic has yet to be decided, but we’ll be starting a poll on either the group’s site or the Meetup site we use to accept registrations for the meetings. If you are interested in attending and want some input on choosing the next topic, this is your chance to be heard.
All are always welcome to participate, so if you plan to be in the NYC metro area on November 10th, come on by and drop in for some professional conversation and good-natured debate.
The game is “Find Steve on the pictures” 🙂
